Girl Scouts Spring Sleepover ~
On Wednesday, to welcome the first day of spring, the girl scouts had a sleepover at the fire station. The girls are on spring break, so it was a nice way to break up the week.
They worked on crafts, played games, earned some new patches and badges, ate delicious lasagna and other tasty snacks, and then in the morning, there was an Easter egg hunt!
Im so glad we had nice weather for it...it snowed the next morning, and has been snowing off and on since. So much for welcoming Spring :)

Jordyn's Pet Store ~
Welcome to Jordyn's Pet Store...please rig (ring) bell for service!
What kind of pet are you looking for? Take a look at my computer to see what the choices are...
Cats, dogs, bunnys, owl, squirl, monky and deer. Only 5 cents each, what a bargain...so i purchased an owl and a pink kitty cat...i hope they get along. :)
After the pet shop closed, Jordyn spent some time creating aliens...there were good aliens and bad aliens. This is a good alien, because it is smiling :) Later in the afternoon, while i did some quilting, Jordyn went for a short hike with Grandpa Bear...then they came back and built a castle and hid some eggs around the house for each other to find. It was a quiet but fun Friday (just what i needed after the girl scout sleepover...more on that soon) cheers ~

Rollerland!
We met some friends in town at Rollerland for some spring break fun...and happily, Justin was able to join us this time. Jordyn skated much better this time around, though it still looks like she is jogging with skates on (she hasnt quite figured out the glide part) :)
Grandpa and Grandma Bruen met us there to watch us skate, and they brought Great Grandma Anita too....but they left before i could get a photo of everyone. After they dropped off Anita they came back to pick up Jordyn and kept her for a sleepover. With a free night, Justin and i enjoyed dinner at El Burritos and then a peaceful night at home...after four hours of roller skating, we were asleep before 10. Gotta love spring break! :)

A Relaxing Weekend ~
Jordyn got some new books, and couldnt wait to read them this weekend...in fact, she spent most of Saturday reading, and finished 5 of the Rainbow Magic Fairies books. I thought she might like to read something besides the Magic Treehouse books, and i guess the Fairies Series was a good choice. I love to see her curled up in a cozy spot reading, so i had to capture this moment with my camera. My cousin Christy was up for a few days...we enjoyed lunch at the Pot Belly, some wine...and hours and hours of conversation. We never run out of things to chat about. While we were talking, we were also quilting...
You may recognize this pattern, i made about 32 of these blocks last March and Christy made the rest. Its a gift for someone special and we got together this weekend to try and finish it. All it needs are borders, and then its off to the quilters for his magical touch! Ill post photos when its all done. In the meantime, Jordyn and i are enjoying our days off...10 in fact, for spring break! woooohoooo! Heres to sleeping in!!!

GO Pirates!!!
We had our first soccer practice yesterday, and the girls played great! What a difference a year makes...they are more aggressive and tough! I think we have a really good team this year...cant wait to see them on the field! We did have to relocate our practice due to a wildfire though...i sure hope this isnt a sign of our summer to come...its awfully early to be having wildfires! Heres a shot of the Galena Wildfire...i took this picture as i was driving home on 287....so far its burned between 800-1000 acres. Stay safe firefighters!!!

Winter Weekend ~
I saw this little storm trooper bunny at Walmart and couldnt pass him up...isnt he cool! :) I know Jordyn is going to love him! And speaking of Jordyn...
we had a Pirates of the Caribbean marathon this weekend, which inspired her to create this little outfit :) i heard her upstairs practicing her pirate speech, "arrrrr....ya scurvy dog!" But what i love most is the milk mustache.
Then i worked on this miniature 3D quilt top for the about.com swap. The theme is Spring, so i thought these colors fit the bill :) I wanted to get a jump on making this since the soccer season is coming up and i stepped up to be the coach. Between that, girl scouts, and the school yearbook, the next month or two will be crazy busy...but i really wanted to squeeze in some creative stuff...so here it is! I cut out enough fabric to make two and im glad i did, because i think it came out pretty cute. Hope my receiver likes it too.

Would You Eat Them With A Fox? ~
Read Across America Day celebrates Dr Seuss's birthday as well as the joy of reading! :)
So what better way to kick off the day at school, than with green eggs and ham, while listening to...what else, but Green Eggs and Ham!
i will not eat them here or there, i will not eat them anywhere....well, maybe at Red Feather Elementary! :)
