Gnome Concerns ~

Ive been enjoying the sketchbook challenge, even if i only do 1 or 2 sketches a month...at least its got me sketching again...but not just me, look who else caught the sketching bug :)   And now that she's hooked, perhaps we will find more time for sketching...together!

Today was another cold and blustery day...then, magically, the wind stopped and it was gorgeous outside! All the wind we've had for the last three days helped dry up the muddy roads, making it a perfect day for a stroll...so i headed outside for a nice 3 mile walk! AWESOME! However, when i returned home i stumbled upon this creepy gathering...im not sure what the garden art is up too...but it cant be good! :)

Gardening and Grill Cheese

It was another beautiful day today, so Justin and Jordyn decided to do some work in the garden.  We had a broken sun pavilion, so Justin cut those pieces down to make a cold frame for my tomatoes.  Our growing season is too short for tomatoes, but im hoping this frame changes that!  There's nothing better than fresh tomatoes...my Grandpa Leon used to grow bushels of them...he'd pick them, and then set them in the windowsill to ripen.  Im not sure why, but i found it amusing to poke my finger into each one, and boy would he get mad!  The silly things kids do...i guess ill have to remember that now that Jordyns getting bigger! :)
Anyways, after a full day of yard work, we were all pretty hungry, so i made one of our favorite lunches...grill cheese and tomato soup.  This little sequence of photos is kind of fun, so i thought id post them all.  Hope they make you smile ~

Mini Rogue Camp...

I dont want to jinx us,  but it looks as if Spring may finally arrive...and thank goodness for that!  With daylight savings time and the sun rising higher in the sky over the canyon wall,  we are enjoying some warmer, SUNNIER days, and i am LOVING it!  It may snow here and there, but when the sun comes out, it all melts away...hurray!  In fact, it was so nice today, that Jordyn had some friends over for a play date, and they played outside the whole time!  There are two girls that moved into the canyon this Fall and we finally had a chance to get them together.  Sadly, they may be moving soon, which would make Jordyn the only kid in the canyon again, but i hope they decide to stay for a while.  I couldnt help but overhear them playing, and i am sad to say, my child is going thru the BOSSY stage!  ugh!  She has been this way for a couple of weeks, and it is really frustrating.  In fact, i didnt realize it was a "stage" till i googled it on line to see what i could do about it.  I really do hope its just a stage, she is driving me nuts!
Jordyn is on Spring break right now, so we have been enjoying the time off...she got to spend a few nights at grandma and grandpas house to hang out with her cousins, and then we went to town to play at the park and see the movie Rango.  If you like westerns, you'll enjoy this movie, but its not necessarily geared towards the little kids.  She says she enjoyed it, but i noticed she was more than a little restless.  I liked it though :)
On another note, every summer Justin and i host a party at our house called Rogue Camp,  and those of you that follow my blog are probably familiar with it too, so you may find this story amusing.
Jordyn was out in the yard creating this little display of pillows, tiki torches, drums and wind chimes, so i asked her, "what are you doing Jordyn", to which she replied, "im having a little rogue camp!"
So Justin grabbed a drum and they jammed at her mini rogue camp today!  Even her little stuffed kitty joined the party.  I, however, am off to dream about my garden, and all the vegetables i plan to grow this summer!  Have a fabulous weekend!

Snowman Thoughts
I didnt take many photos this week, so i went with this shot of our melting snowman.  I decided to have a little fun with it, playing with brushes, filters, and color.  I enjoyed getting inside the mind of a snowman.  Photo taken March 11th, and digitally painted in Photoshop.

Hearts from England~

Last month i won a give-away on Anne's blog and it showed up in my mailbox yesterday...isnt it beautiful!  I love it Anne...thank you sooooo much! The little heart pillow was a nice extra touch, and it matches my bathroom perfectly....Thanks again!

And for smiles, here are some sledding photos from Monday...

Justin's brother Damian was visiting from West Virginia, so Katie, their sister, came up for a visit too.  It was nice for all of us to get together...visits in the Winter are always a welcome treat to break up the doldrums!

And now, Jordyn is sick again, so i guess we'll stay cooped up in the house again for a few days....those poor preschool kids are passing everything back and forth.  Oh well, at least she's building up an immune system!
