Jordyn and I have set a goal for ourselves this summer....we must do something creative every day! On day one, we worked in our art journals. On day two we organized our beads/tools and researched jewelry making to make earrings today, and today she made this pair of earrings. I made several pair, trying to get my groove on working with wire. Its gonna be a colorful summer!

Pancake Breakfast ~
This morning was the Lion's Club pancake breakfast in Red Feather. Kids going into 5th grade help serve the breakfast to earn money for Eco Week (5th grade camp). Jordyn was excited to help serve breakfast now that she's a "big" 5th grader, and at the end of her shift she earned an extra $10 to keep for herself. Now she has some fun money for her trip to Texas with Aunt LeAnn!

The Last Resort ~
We had a friend that was looking to sell this RV, so we decided to take a chance. We ended up purchasing it for $1500.00 dollars...which is awesome since you cant even buy a shed for that price, and now we have a guest house!
Im hoping we can take it on some trips, but it will need a little bit of work first. It runs...they drove it all the way up here, however it died right on the circle by the house (but started up a few hours later). It has an overheating issue that is common with this engine design, but it is repairable. We'll see how much we want to invest in it, but we are really looking forward to the extra space for company, etc. Jordyn's already talking about all the sleepovers shes going to have in it!

Last Game of the Season ~
Today was Jordyn's last game of the season (dont ya just love the bored goalie shot)...well, actually they played a double header today, so her last two games of the season. The first game was at 11:30 and the second game was at 4:30, so we had a lot of time to kill in town in between games.
Justin picked up Great Grandma Anita and brought her to the first game, so after the game (which they won 4-0), Anita treated us to the Waffle House for breakfast. Jordyn was super hungry and gobbled up steak and eggs. Justin did too, while Anita and I opted for lunch. Thank you Anita...the food was great! After breakfast, Justin drove Anita home, and then went home to catch up on work.
Meanwhile, Jordyn and I went to Target to return some clothes I bought for her for her trip to Texas with Aunt LeAnn. New clothes for vacation are always a treat, but apparently, i missed a bit on size, so we had to take some stuff back for exchanging. Then we headed back to the field for game two, which they also won 4-1...woohoo! What a day and what a season! They ended up winning 6 games, lost 1, and tied 1. I love to watch her play, but I look forward to spending some weekends at home at the black bear now!

Fuzzy's ~
Our end of year luncheon was at Fuzzy's Tacos today, my first time going there, and it was tasty! This is the fabulous preschool team I work with. Sue, in pink, will be moving to Grand Junction so she will be missed. She headed the preschool program in Livermore, but sadly, there were no kids in the area to attend next year, so she is moving on. These women are all wonderful and I really enjoy working with them. They are smart, funny and kind! And we are all READY for Summer!!! :)

Butterflies, Turtles and Blowfish ~
We finally released the butterflies today after watching them grow from caterpillars...what a cool experience! We had to wait until today to release them due to weather, so I took some photos to share with my preschoolers. Jordyn enjoyed helping me with the task :)
Then we headed over to the library where they had a wonderful presenter teaching the kids all about ocean life. She had all kinds of fabulous specimens for the kids to explore, and it was a lot of fun.

Preschool Graduation ~
Look at this cute bunch! These are the kiddos going off to kindergarten next year. Ill be sad to see them go, but excited to know I will see them in the halls next year.
This year I put together a slideshow for the parents after the graduation, and it was a big hit! I take so many photos throughout the year, it seems a shame not to share them.

Andrea spent the night after the Spring Swing, and the girls spent the entire day building this teepee village in the yard, complete with kitchen, bathroom and a garage. Sleepovers RULE!

Spring Swing
We had our annual fundraiser tonight, so the girls got all dolled up to go! It was a carnival theme, complete with magicians, a snow cone maker, funnel cake machine and popcorn (along with regular food too).
Justin and the band played most of the evening, but then our very own Red Feather Rockers performed and the crowd loved it!
They played about 6 songs, all taking turns as singers and musicians, and they did a great job!
Hard to believe my kiddo is going into 5th grade and we'll only have one more of these to go to! Happy and sad at the same time!

Game Fest Fun ~
We've had really nasty weather lately, so it was nice to see the sun come out for Game Fest! The kids look forward to this every year, and its no wonder why....just look at all the fun they have!
The girls against the men was fun....the girls won the first round, and then I jumped in with the guys the second time and helped them beat the girls the second time!
Mr. Marietta said, no wonder we werent winning...we needed a woman on our side to win! :) Jordyn was mad at me for joining in, but I thought it was fun! Sorry kiddo!
Lunch took place under our shade awning once again and it was the place to be! Its so nice to have a place for the kids to gather, and I love it when the party comes to me! :)
When it came to the races at the end of the day, things got serious! Jordyn is always neck and neck with Brooke at Livermore, so she always wants to do her best. The first 100 yard dash Jordyn took third behind Bree and Brooke, and the second round she took second behind Brooke, but the best part was the 440 race...
Here they are, Brooke and Jordyn, running neck and neck with Justin (in the red sweatshirt) running along the field cheering them on...
and Jordyn just squeaked in to take first place! Woohoo! Way to go kiddo...you rocked it!

All School Field Trip ~
Our all school field trip was today, so we all climbed aboard the bus and headed to Denver! Our first stop...the Denver Capital Building to have lunch on the lawn and then explore the inside for a bit...
We lucked out and the weather was great! We wandered the halls of the Capital, and then walked over to the History Colorado Center two blocks down the road.
It was my first time going there, and I have to admit, it was pretty awesome! I didnt know what to expect, but there were all kinds of fun things for the little ones to do to entertain them!
One of my favorite parts, was the ski jump simulator....after all the kids had a turn, Mrs. Jayroe and I had to give it a try.....
I totally nailed the landing, as you can see by the cheering on of our museum guide! Yes....Preschool Rocks! :)
The kids ended the tour with a fun game of Colorado bingo, and this was a lot of fun too! The tour guides were wonderful and I look forward to going back sometime to share it with Justin and Christy!
Before heading out of Denver, I asked the bus driver if he could detour our trip by a few blocks to see the Big Blue Bear....he was awesome and not only swung by there, but opened the bus doors so I could get this awesome photo! This bear has become quite an icon in Denver, and I wanted the kids to get a peek! Who am I kidding...I love this guy and wanted to see him again for myself :)
On our way home, the weather decided to pour down rain and hail....I am so happy we had the trip timed just right to miss all of that! What a great adventure!
