Birthday in the Park ~

 Last weekend we went to another birthday party, this time, down in town at the city park!  We lucked out and the weather was great...after the little cold snap and snow, we werent sure what to expect, but it turned out to be a perfect day!

 There was pizza and cake (you can see Jordyn trying to help Nicole blow out her candles here)...and then of course, a pinata...

 just look at the excitement on their faces...

 never once taking their eyes off the pinata!

 And here they are with the pinata spoils...looks like they all scored some tasty treats...just what the kids need right before Halloween...more candy :)

 Anyways, it was a great day in town, and that should just about get me all caught up on photos and blogs for now...Happy Birthday Nicole!

Oh, and as we were leaving the park, i saw this Google Street View car and thought it was fun, so i took a photo.  So whenever you utilize the little gold man, this car quite possibly was the one that took those photos :)  Have a nice day!

Todays Misc Fun ~

This mornings drive was a beautiful one filled with gorgeous scenery and surprising wildlife!

We occasionally spot a moose on our drive, but not three, so this was quite a treat!  We stopped to enjoy their magnificence for a while, which almost made Jordyn late for school :)  But up here, that is a perfectly good excuse to be late for school!

After school, the library hosted a fun holiday craft with the kids, so jordyn went and created a little spider to decorate the house...but when we got home, this creepy guy awaited us in the driveway!

Then we headed up to the inlaws, and stumbled upon the Lewis and Clark expedition, complete with early American foods to sample, and some delicious Halloween treats!  Grandma and Grandpa...er...i mean Sacajawea and Clark, were married on Halloween, so they will be celebrating in town tomorrow...so we had our own Halloween fun tonight instead.  But we have more holiday fun planned for tomorrow, so stay tuned!

Meanwhile, i won this gorgeous handmade needle book in a Giveaway over on Maries blog page, which she was sweet enough to personalize for me...and i Love it!

Just look at all the details and shiny gold stitching!  Im looking forward to using this, and will treasure it always!  Thank you soooooo much Marie!  Its a beautiful little keepsake!  :)

As my daughter continues to entertain me with her "i wonder...how come...what ifs.." i figured id share with you some of her latest Jordynisms!

"hey mom...wouldnt it be cool if we lived in outer space...but then our food would float away.  I guess we'd have to get space suits for our food!"

"what if you lived inside a balloon and it deflated?  That would be weird because then you would have to find another one to live in."

"i know fairies are real, because the tooth fairy always signs her notes, love the tooth fairy.  If she wasnt a fairy, what would she be...the tooth monkey or something like that?"

Now we're off to carve pumpkins...have a great night!

Fall Festival ~

 Friday was the Fall Festival...something the kids look forward to all year!  The gym is secretly decorated all day while the kids are in class...and all the while, they are constantly trying to sneak a peek...during lunch, recess and potty breaks...there is always someone trying to catch a glimpse of the excitement that awaits.

 Once dressed up, the kids have a parade around the school and then head in to the gym for carnival fun and games!  There was a fortune teller, pinata, "cake"walk (in which they win a stuffed toy instead of a cake), ring toss, bowling, golf, bean bag toss, and several other fun games.

 And dont forget the costume contest...Jordyn won again as well as her friends Jackson (on the left) and Bella (on the right)...This is her second year in a row to win, so she was surprised and excited to be picked again!

 At the parties end, each child left with a huge bag of goodies, a punch mustache, great memories and lots of giggles and grins!

Our Drive To School This Morning ~

 Here's that snow i was talking about...

 and dont be fooled by all the tire tracks...its hunting season...ordinarily, we are the first ones out in the morning :)  In fact, we had a lot of traffic today, passing four cars on our 12 mile stretch :)  (all hunters of course)

Field Trip to the Pumpkin Patch ~

 Yesterday the Preschool, Kindergarten and 1st graders went to Bartel Farms Pumpkin Patch!  Hooray for field trips!  It was scheduled for last Wednesday, however, the trip was canceled due to high winds...so the kid were rather excited to go today!

 They had a lot of chickens wandering around the farm, along with some pigs, turkeys, sheep and ducks.  It was a little cold, with snow expected later in the afternoon, so we were all bundled up for our hayride!

 

 Look how wound up they were once the tractor started...

 and look at all those pumpkins, ripe for the picking!  I just love the colors and eye candy that surround a pumpkin patch!  Lots of inspiration for painting everywhere you look!

 And speaking of eye candy...check out these super cute pumpkins......

 I had one of Jordyns classmates take this photo...good job Blake!  Now it was time to pick out a pumpkin!

 Some of the kids grabbed teeny tiny pumpkins that fit in their pockets, while others grabbed ginormous ones, almost too big to carry.

Jordyn picked out this beauty, while i chose one covered in warts :)

 All in all...a great day at the pumpkin patch!  Oh, and we beat the snow home by about 10 minutes...hooray!

New Etsy Store ~

Meanwhile, these are the latest squares ive made for the birthday block swap for Miss October...she wanted 3, 6, 9 or 12 inch blocks with purples, and since i chose a smaller size, i went ahead and made her a couple of 3 inchers too :)  Hope she likes them!  Happy Monday~
