200th Post....Hurrah!

So apparently books werent the only things that jordyn checked out at the library a few weeks ago...thats right, my kid has chicken pox! I must admit, im glad she is getting it out of the way now...chicken pox on an adult can be very nasty. Of course, she had the shot, but i guess it didnt take :) Having the shot did make her case rather mild though...just the ones you see on her back...several on the backs of her knees...some on the neck and groin, but thats about it. It could have been a lot worse. So if anyone wants to get it over with...bring your kid on over to play :) (im reminded of a certain south park episode) hehehehe
Also, i wanted to share the extent of jordyns infatuation with Nightmare Before Christmas...check out her drawing of Jack Skellington.....

I was also planning to post my give-away for my 200th post, but as its late, im tired, and havent photographed it yet, youll just have to check back tomorrow on my 201st post for the info :)
Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!!!

Ahhh Chicken Pox ... aren't they fun? Not!
But you are right ... getting them out of the way in childhood is a good thing ... they develop as really bad shingles in adults!
Tim had them on Halloween one year, and I had to work the next day ... Paul called me to let me know he had become "all bumpy" & when I got home he looked like a thousand mosquitos had bitten him...everywhere...top to bottm!

Baking soda baths & calamine lotion ... that seemed to help...but he still scratched ... & now has the scars to remind him.

Yep, get chicken pox over and done with ASAP! The younger the better. Give her a hug from me though, it can be very uncomfortable for little ones too.
Jack Skellington looks cool, she has her mothers artistic streak.
Love your last post, about the birdie. I hope he's doing ok.

Poor Jordyn...chicken pox aren't fun. If the itching gets real bad then an oatmeal bath may help (it did with my girls) take a cup of oatmeal (rolled oats) and put them in an knee high panty hose. Tie the end up and let the water run through it. The bath will be milky and should sooth the sores.

First the snow collapsing a roof onto your car. Now the chicken pox! You deserve a rest.

Conratulations on reaching your 200th post.

Poor baby! But, you're right, better now than later. And, before it gets too warm outside. That just makes it worse!

The drawing of Jack Skellington is great! Jordyn is quite the artist. I wonder where she gets that from? ;)

Poor Jordyn. Still, as you say, it could have been worse. My two got it just before we were going on holiday, which made packing a nightmare, and if anyone travelled on the Channel ferry in June 1984 and their child subsequently got chicken pox, I'd like to hold my hand up right now!

Well it sounds like the best of both worlds as far as the chicken pox go - the vaccine and a mild case. She's covered for life :)
