Samurai Exhibit at the DAM ~

We went down to Denver to get off the mountain for a while and shake off our cabin fever a bit...and while we were down there we went to the DAM and checked out the new Samurai exhibit.
The collection was absolutely gorgeous, and i couldnt believe all the detail of the armor.  For example, just look at those butterfly hinges on the shin covers.  Wow!  Everything was crafted so elegantly, it was hard to imagine they were made for battle.
The helmets were amazing too...in fact, this was one of my favorites, the flaming jewel.

Even the accessories were full of wonderful details and beauty.

Jordyn really enjoyed the exhibit too...and you can see her and Christy admiring the back of this armor through the glass.  I love this shot of these two!

After the exhibit, we checked out some of the contemporary art and then headed on over to our favorite pub for lunch.

Bloody Marys and wimpys with chips...always a great choice!  This has become such a wonderful tradition with all of us, that we really look forward to it every time we go!

These last two photos really sum up our afternoon...Here we are trying to get a selfie of all of us with the Museum sign in the background, and Aunt Gwen couldn't get up on the planter with us, so we started laughing....and continued to laugh as she tried and tried to get up  :) heheheheheheh

I love these ladies!~
