There were some antique quilts as well. This civil war quilt was one of my favorites!
It was in such wonderful shape for its age...and it was a treat to see in person! The tiny stitches and the pretty pattern. Im sure this quilt has quite a story! This quilt was made for breast cancer awareness, and there was such lovely embroidery work.
Just look at the lettering and the little beads. Unfortunately, my photo doesn't do it justice!
This stunning black quilt by Barb Donahoe is made entirely by hand! This quilt won viewers choice (in fact, Barb wins almost every year to the dismay of many quilters). But she really does wonderful handwork that many of us never even attempt, so she deserves the win! :)
After the quilt show, Jordyn and i did a little shopping at the craft fair! We purchased a bunch of baked goods for our UPCA association, added a new chain saw bear to our collection, and then picked up a few handmade ornaments for the tree.
Later that evening we went to Becks Barn Dance...
County Road 74E played some hoppin tunes and the crowd really got into the dancing this year! Sometimes folks will dance and other times it seems like no one gets up to boogie...but this year everyone got on the dance floor! As the evening winded down, and most of the folks had left, Jordyn and Daddy did a rendition of "Royals" together and it was too cute! Thanks for another fabulous party Jim and Bev...we all had a blast!
