Week Thirty Two : Dodecatheon
also known as a shooting star (a flowering plant in the primrose family)
This is one of my favorite wildflowers up here...it grows in the sandy banks along the river, and with the high water we had this year i didnt think i would get to see any. On a stroll along the island this weekend i found a small patch of them blooming and it made my day. Hope it makes yours too. This photo was not altered.

and I've always found it magical how they manage to return each year ... again a lovely shot of them.
Congrats on your 500th post! That is a huge milestone!(Decided to post here rather than on the giveaway post ... as that sane stuff is just not my thing ... so leave it to those who would enjoy the prizes!)
