Garden Fever...Art Fever...

I woke up yesterday morning and the sun was shining thru the catkins on the aspen trees...the catkins actually appeared to be glowing, and it was invigorating! Im not sure if my photo captured it, but i hope it gives you somewhat of an idea :)

We have had some wonderful weather here lately...hard to believe we were dealing with THIS last year around the same time. Im sure we can expect some more snow for another month or two, but Spring is definitely here. We have been spending most of our time outside lately...Jordyn playing in her playhouse, sandbox, swing set, and basic running around...while ive been digging away in the garden, tilling the dirt, cutting back perennials, and even re-potting some indoor plants.

When we arent outside soaking up vitamin D, Jordyn is creating many works of art. She really LOVES to draw, and has recently become fascinated with the letters of the alphabet. I need to channel that energy and start painting again myself...that was one of my resolutions this year, "making time for art"...and so far, i have not gotten past my photography.

Still, with the weather warming up, and inspiration all around me, i hope that will soon be remedied! Besides, i bought some new water colors im just itching to try!

Here is Jordyn's latest piece...a card she made for her Aunt LeAnn...notice how she has incorporated some letters into the artwork...she may not know all of her letters yet, but it wont be long before she does!

Anyways, with the weather so fair, we will be spending most of our time outside, which means the posts will be far and few for now...but stay tuned!

Wow I'm really impressed with Jordyn's drawing.. That is really detailed for her age and the letters are wonderful...she's a clever one :o)

For a three year old, she certainly has a very mature style! A person with head, body, neck etc is really impressive! (Some of the four year olds I work with are still on the big head with arms and legs growing out of it stage!)
