End of Year Celebration ~

This is our Media/Tech team at the end of year celebration!  Yes, that is a green screen, and no, i did not key it out to replace with something else....I thought the photos were fun as is :)  These ladies were awesome to work with this year!  It being my first year, I had a lot of questions, and they shared a lot of wonderful ideas with me, as I hope I did with them.  Heather, our Ed Tech (in pink) was great, and introduced us to all kinds of new technology including coding, google classroom, 3D printing and more.  I cant wait to see what she introduces to us next year.  Rheo (in cowyboy hat), just got hired on at Stove Prairie as the new K-1 teacher, so I will be sad to see her go, but very excited for her new adventures.  Stacy (in witch hat) landed a gigantic grant for one of the mountain schools, which she will be generously sharing with the other two mountain schools via a new HP Sprout computer.  I look forward to learning all about it and teaching the kids on it next year.  I see our technology team growing in so many ways, I cant wait to see what we do next year!  Thanks ladies....you are all an inspiration and wonderful to work with!  Happy Summer!

Happy Mother's Day ~

My phone rang at 7am this morning...it was LeAnn, calling to let me know there was a moose up in the front yard!  We dont get moose visits often up here, so i grabbed my camera and headed up!
This gorgeous guy was admiring Ken and Kristis bird sanctuary up front, and hung around long enough for me to get some really fun shots!
What a wonderful start to mothers day!
I enjoyed bloody marys with LeAnn and took a trip to Red Feather to pick up the Sunday paper for some of the neighbors (they take turns each week since they dont deliver to our area), and then came home to a delicious breakfast made by Justin....eggs, potatoes and sausage!  I also opened my present from Jordyn, an adult coloring book with colored pencils, and a strand of pretty beads for jewelry making. (thank you Christy, for being sneaky with her at Joanns yesterday and helping her pick something out for me...it was a great surprise and she was so excited to get me something wrapped in pretty tissue paper and a fancy bag!)  Then after catching up with my mom on the phone i enjoyed a nice cozy nap!  So far its been a wonderful Mother's Day!  Cheers~

Feathery Friend ~

Jordyn and I discovered this magnificent creature on our way to school this morning!  He was just sitting in the middle of the road, and then flew up into a tree when we drove towards him.  We stopped and took a bunch of pictures of him as he patiently waited for the paparazzi to go away.  What a great start to our day!

Snowshoeing ~

Took the preschoolers snowshoeing on the nature trail today and had a great time!  Yes, Miss Elliett is missing a shoe...but no worries, its right by the rock  :)  Jordyn's class went snowshoeing on Monday (breaking the trail for us and making it easier for the little ones), and heres a shot of them from Monday!  Their class won the Iditarod Challenge, so this was their reward.  Gotta love Mountain Schools!

Finally Snowman Snow ~

Over the weekend we had a wonderful spring snowstorm and got almost 2 feet of snow.  (Jordyns soccer game was canceled and everything!)  But naturally, because its a spring snow, its almost all melted away already.  It was however, the perfect snowman snow, so Justin and Jordyn went outside and built these two snow people, which i got to decorate!  The snow was nice, but I'm ready for some sunshine!  Bring on Summer!

Big Horn Sheep

These guys were hanging out all over the mountainside this morning....there were a couple dozen of them munching away as we passed them on our way to school!  Just one more reminder of why we love living where we do!

Game Two ~

The Eagles had their second game today, and they played a fantastic game!  They won 3 - 1, and they were all over the field!
Jordyn played some defense as well as offense, she loves to play both, but shes really great at defense!  She did take the ball down the field a few times and got a shot or two on goal, but no goals this time around.  She still played a dynamite game though!
And how could she not....she had these fans sitting on the sideline cheering for her!  Great Grandma Anita remembers coming to this field to watch her granddaughter Corey play, and now she comes to watch her Great Granddaughter play!  Very cool indeed!  And did you see the gorgeous weather we had...what a great day!
