Go Stallions!!!

It's official...I'm a Stallion now!  I feel a bit like a traitor, but I'm still a part of the mountain schools, so that is awesome!  Go Stallions!!!

New Apron ~

Check out my new apron for the lunchroom!  A plain apron just wouldn't do, so R2-D2 it is!  :) 

First Day of Middle School ~

 Jordyns first day of 6th grade...thats right, Middle School!  They start school a day early for the 6th graders only, so that they can acclimate to their surroundings and get into a groove before the other grades are there, which I think is pretty cool!  We didn't get the traditional photo on the porch, because it was still dark outside!  Yep, Justin has to head out the door with Jordyn at 5:40 am, so it was still dark.  He drives her to the bus at Poudre Park, and then she takes the bus home to Stove Prairie so that she can ride home with me.  It being the first day of school though, Justin decided to drive her all the way down, and then pick her up from school too.

 Here she is excitedly running towards Justin when she saw him outside...too cute!  Wish I could have been there, but good job on the photos dad!  Congrats on having an awesome first day sweetheart!

Middle School Preparations ~

 Today is the day 6th graders could go to the school and pick up their schedule and their lockers.  A big day indeed!

 We ran into a couple of Red Feather kids, but Jordyn was particularly excited to run in to one of her besties, Andrea.  They compared schedules, and it turns out that they will have 4 classes together, which is awesome!

 She tried out her locker combination, in fact, we all gave it a go, but it didn't work.  Thankfully they had someone on standby for just such an occasion.  I have a feeling it happens often.  Anyways, after an adjustment, the combo was good to go!

 And look how close Andrea and Jordyns locker are to each other...

 After about 10 practice turns on the lockers, we decided to wander around and see where all the girls classes were.  Jordyn is telling a ridiculous story here...I can't imagine where she gets all her animated expressions from :)

 We had some errands to run, and so did Sharon, so we decided to meet up afterwords and have some lunch.  Jordyn and I got new haircuts, and then we ran into Sharon and Andrea at the store, so we did our school supply shopping together, and then hit up some Mexican food.  Naturally we had a margarita to go with it!  Yummo!  Errands in town turned into a fun day with friends!  I still can't believe Jordyn is going into middle school...sigh!

S'mores With Grandma and Grandpa ~

 Grandma and Grandpa Bruen stopped through here on there way home from St. Louis and camped for a couple of days...so naturally we had to have some s'mores.

 Grandpa also shared some of his expert fishing advice with Jordyn while they did some fishing on the river!  Gotta enjoy these last few weeks of summer before school starts!

Village Vet on a Foggy Day ~

 Took the cats to the Village Vet today to get their shots...Kato decided the most comfortable spot in the car was on the dashboard, right in front of my face!  Kitten (Stitch) got car sick on the way there, but was a trooper on the ride home...she's laying down in the backseat somewhere...guess she got bored.  But check out the fog!  It's supposed to get down into the 30s tonight!  And check out my henna from the Ren Faire...still going strong!

New Classroom ~

 Today we went to town to get Jordyn updated on her shots for middle school...then we headed up Rist Canyon to Stove Prairie to check out my new classroom.  I was hired on as the Media/Tech teacher, but I will also be a para as well.  Obviously things are still being moved around and organized, but check out this gorgeous library!

 This is the view looking into my classroom from my desk.  The kids will stationed on computers on those tables, but they aren't hooked up yet.

 Anyways, I'm looking forward to getting in there and making the space my own!  I'm planning on gutting a lot of the old books, and I think I might try to  move those bookcases over so the room opens up more...wish me luck!  I was not quite ready for summer to end, but now that I've seen my new space, I'm looking forward to it!
