Fun at the Black Bear with TJ and Jake ~
TJ and Jake decided to spend their day relaxing at the Black Bear instead of hiking or driving around, and it was the perfect day for just that! We kicked the morning off with bloody marys and then power lounged on the river.

Go ROCKIES!!!
We went to a ballgame while TJ and Jake were here, and several of the mountain moms and their kids joined us at the game as well! We made sure to get seats in the shade, because it was going to be a scorcher, and man am I glad we did!
They had a lot of fun things going on at the stadium that day....we got free metal water bottles as a give-away when we arrived, then they had about 8 soldiers parachute into the stadium, and then they did the jumbo flag presentation by some of our military. It reminded me of when Christy and I did it last year. Very cool indeed!
The kids all had a blast goofing off together in the back row...they ate their weight in junk food and enjoyed squirting each other with water bottles to keep cool. The moms enjoyed margaritas and beer, and TJ and Jake enjoyed the whole thing!
We wore our neck coolers to keep cool, and man was that awesome...it was almost 100 degrees out!
Last time Jordyn and I were at the stadium we noticed that they had Rocky Mountain Oysters, which I had never tried, so with TJ in tow, I asked her if she was game to try them....naturally she was, so we decided to go for it!
What a great time we all had! After the game we headed up the mountains to our place for cooler weather! Hooray! (oh, and the Rockies lost against the Phillys if you were wondering....boo!)

hmmmmm......for some reason i expected them to be round? :) heheheheheh
Here we go...taking our first bite while Jordyn photobombs us!
They weren't too bad actually, though the last one was a bit chewy and grisly. Once we polished of the oysters the jokes began...me: "that was one tough nut to crack".....Jake: "that was pretty ballsy of you guys to try"...me: "I think I have some testicle stuck in my teeth"...and it just got uglier from there :)What a great time we all had! Adventures in Denver ~
Teresa was driving into Colorado on Saturday, so Jordyn and I headed down to Denver on Friday night to spend some time with Christy and Beas. Naturally we had to wear our matching pj's! Complete with photo bomb by Jordyn :)
Christy had to work in the morning, so Jordyn and I slept in and then went to Great Scott's for breakfast! We had the Man O' Man breakfast....or as we like to call it, the carnivore platter!
We stopped by the shop to visit Greg, Christy and Uncle Lynn. My Uncle Lynn has been battling cancer for 3 years, but was recently told that there was nothing more they could do for him. Even with all of that going on in his world, he was still filled with humor and laughs when we visited.
Naturally we hardly let them settle in before the shots were passed around...this was Jakes very first (and only) shot! And of all choices, it was Jagermeister! yikes!
It was cooking in Denver...the high 90's, so of course a water fight took place...no doubt, Jim started it! :)

You are the best Uncle Lynn...no wonder you were my dads best friend! We love you!

Hunter was soaking wet and shivering, but he wouldnt stop playing in the water!
I absolutely love this photo of Christy and Beas...I'm sure there is no sarcasm being exchanged here! Heheheheheh!
Here is a fun shot of all the second cousins...
and here is a shot of the Old Cousins!!!
What a great day spent with family!!!

Visit With Grandpa ~
Grandma and Grandpa Bruen are out for a visit...we have the RV (aka "The Last Resort") all ready as a guest house, so they are staying in that. They moved to Arizona last September, so they are visiting Colorado for the summer to stay cool. First thing Jordyn and Grandpa did when they got here....went fishing of course! :) They have 2 so far, waiting for a third one and then we'll use Justins new smoker to cook them. Fresh trout for dinner anyone?!?

More Pool Adventures ~
We went to Western Ridge pool again today to cool off with some friends, and this time we brought cousin Wolfie along with us. Looks like everyone had a great time, including the moms! Almost 4 hours of fun and I'm pooped! When we got home Grandpa and Grandma Bruen had just arrived and were moving into the RV for their stay. They will be visiting for 10 days, trying to get out of the Arizona heat for a while! Jordyn was very excited to see them and headed to the river with Grandpa to go fishing right away. I have a feeling we will be eating a lot of trout while they are here! :)

Fourth of July Family Fun ~
Fourth of July weekend was spent with family and it was wonderful! Cousin Christine is back from Australia, and Damian was up with his girlfriend Jen, and cousin Wolfie is up for the summer, so there was lots of fun all around!
Justin had this raft inflated and tied to the bridge, so the kids had a lot of fun with that...and then it was time for watermelon!

Nothing says summer quite like watermelon!
Guess what we did next...here's a clue....
Thats right, it was time to blow the dust off our potato gun and give it some action!
This potato gun is at least 15 years old, and it still works like a champ!
Once the sun set, it was time for real fireworks...Jordyn is dressed and ready for fun!
Happy 4th of July!!!!
