Family Reunion & Baby Shower Fun ~

So at the end of June we had a huge family reunion, and its taken me till now to get caught up on photos to post this blog!  Jordyn had a sleepover with her friend Andrea, and some of the cousins arrived early, so they all had a great time playing together!
In the evening, after bathing and washing off all the mud, Jordyn and Andrea built this fort to sleep in!  The next morning i drove Andrea home, and when we got home, it was total chaos!
Family chaos that is...but totally worth it!  We had family from Colorado, Nebraska, Alaska, Oregon, and Texas.

The kids all had a great time together, and Jordyn loved having a bunch of young ones to play with!
The older cousins had a great time too!  The ladies put together a beautiful shower for Ali on Saturday, June 22nd, while the guys slept in and had cocktails!
Jordyn was excited to be invited to the shower...she was the only little one there, but then Van was feeling left out, so he came to join in too. (though he hung out in the other room reading)
The cousins put together a beautiful shower with all kinds of cute little goodies.  Take a closer look at this photo and notice the little chocolate kiss filled carriages, the diaper cake, and the super cute banner, "hear me roar".

There was delicious food and lots of wine...and of course, then there were presents...lots of presents!!!
Jordyn was in charge of helping Ali with the gifts, and she took her job very seriously...besides, she got the best seat...right next to the mom-to-be, so she had a great time.

After the shower, the family wandered around the property, visiting with each other, sharing stories and laughs...
and even sharing a few margaritas!!!

The younger cousins were having boat races in the ditch, while the older generation of cousins reminisced about boat races they had in that very same ditch over 50 years ago.  I guess some things never change!  :)

There was music, more laughter, water fights, slip n slide fun, lots of delicious food (thank you Humbert)...
and we even celebrated a birthday,  Happy Birthday Vicente!!!
Yep...it was a wonderful family reunion...and a good time was had by all!
Thank you Aunt LeAnn and all the cousins for planning this...we created some fantastic memories this summer and i will cherish them forever! ~

This little gem was given to me by cousin Mary at the reunion.  Jordyns Great Great Grandma, Christina Belle (Collins) Dudden (June 22, 1893- March 15, 1954) made this quilt for her grand daughter Kristi (Jordyns grandma) for her dolls.  Mary wanted me to have it being the quilter in the family, and i was thrilled to receive it.  This picture doesnt quite do it justice, but its in wonderful shape, and i love it.  I plan to make a label for it so that future generations can appreciate the work Belle put into this quilt.  Thanks again Mary, i love it!
