Happy 90th Birthday Great Grandma Anita ~

We celebrated Anitas 90th birthday on Saturday, and family and friends traveled near and far to be with her on her big day!
We put together a surprise birthday quilt for her...each family member was given matching fabric to use in a quilt square, and then they returned those squares to me to put together into a quilt.  Pat and Jaimie did the quilting, and then i finished the binding.  It came together quite beautifully in spite of the road bumps we had along the way, and i think its safe to say, she loved it!

Heres a close up of the square from our family...i had a few paper piecing issues, but it was nothing a few buttons couldnt fix :)
There was delicious barbecue, music, and good times!

We played bocce, volleyball, more bocce...and we even had a few light saber battles!

Four Generations

Yep...a good time was had by all!!!  Happy Birthday Anita ~ Ti Amo!

What a beautiful woman Anita is. It's hard to believe she is 90. (I'd guess 65.) It looks as if you all had a wonderful time celebrating.

Looks like a great time and I love the idea of the quilt.
Neat that each family was able to make their own square.
