For a surprise, i took Jordyn to the Lee Martinez Farm on Saturday. This was their last weekend of pony rides for the season, and i knew she would be thrilled to ride one, so we headed down the mountain for some farm fun!
For another surprise, Christy drove up from Denver to meet us, which was awesome! As Godmother (and cousin), Christy loves to participate in fun activities with Jordyn, and since this was her first pony ride, it was not to be missed.
Just look how excited she is...almost as excited as her mom...but then, ive never been on a horse, so this was all new to me as well :)
The farm had many other fun things to enjoy too, a large barn filled with pumpkins, hay rides, a museum, and of course, lots of animals to pet and feed.
It was a gorgeous day, and i am so glad i got to spend it with two of my favorite people! I look forward to going back again soon.
On Sunday, we were expecting a shipment of logs for our winter wood, so Jordyn and Justin suited up, grabbed their chainsaws, and headed up to the yard to meet the truck. (check out their matching clothes).
And here is the truck unloading the logs...the loggers machine arm skills were amazing, and it was like watching an artist with a paintbrush. Fast and delicate at the same time...quite fascinating to watch actually.
Justin and Jordyn are mesmerized by the whole thing!
Afterwords, Jordyn and i played in the meadow...the colors are at their peak right now, and when the light hits it just right, the whole area glows. Photographs dont quite do it justice...but be sure to click on it to see a larger scale image of it!
I hope you enjoyed a peek into our weekend! Cheers~

Interesting to hear you have never ridden a horse! for an outdoor girl, I thought you would have. I have this idea that it's not very poite to just jump on someone's back and expect them to carry you round. I did it once and was distinctly uncomfortable! (Silly, eh!) Jordan looks like a natural, and the tree photos look wonderful.
Jordyn was so cute on the horse. Loved the way she mounted so gracefully, lol. In the neighborhood where I grew up one of the neighbors had an old horse called Dickie. He was swaybacked and his hooves were so overgrown, but all of us kids were allowed to ride him any time we wanted. Also, my sister loves horses and conned my mom into buying her a pony. We kept her in the garage until one of the neighbors complained. There are pictures of every one of my sisters and I sitting on that horse, lol. Her name was Lady.
My husband always reads your blog with me. He is wondering what your husband does for a living. I think Dave is jealous, especially of that backhoe!!!
What a weekend you had. Jordyn looks like she is loving her pony ride. She looks like she's in 7th heaven. Love the matching outfits on her and Daddy and not so matching chainsaws - way to cute. Looks like you had some gorgeous weather for your weekend fun too.
What a beautiful place you live. Your photos are wonderful.
