2007 quilt show

We had our annual quilt show up here today, and as always, it was fabulous! Every year the women worry that there wont be enough quilts, and every year the show is a stellar success! We are a very small community, so it is amazing to see the number of quilts that turn up. i only took a few photos, but i thought you might like to see what this group of canyon women are capable of :)
I, unfortunately, was not able to show anything this year...but i will have many to show next year (unless of course i give them all away before the show). I have stacks of squares and tops ready to go...im just not ready to go i guess :) Jordyn keeps me running so ill just have to squeeze the time in. Thats okay...shes worth it :)
Well, its getting late, and i have an early wedding i have to photograph, so i guess i better run!
Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!
cheers~

We are coming up to a quilt show and can feel your group's pain! You never really know what you're getting in the way of quilts till the last minute, no matter how you encourage people to commit early. I liked the way lots of the quilts were draped across pews (is that what they are?). We're stressing over quilt stands, which we can hire from a local group, but which have to be collected, stored, erected, disassembled, returned etc. Your display method looks a lot more fun.

yes they are church pews...our community center and church are next to each other, so that is where we hold the craft fair and quilt show every year. they have done the show enough times, that they have special devices to hang the quilts over the windows, along the lofts, and draped over the pews. works out rather nice, and the lighting is always so pretty inside. we auction off a quilt every year too...and i never rcvd a phone call, so i guess i can assume i didnt win it :( oh well....maybe next year :)
thanks for your comments lynda.....cheers~lisajo
