Campout With Friends ~

Instead of having a big playdate at our house this summer, we opted for a campout instead!  We invited a few families and the kids got their Dab on!  While the moms got their margaritas on :)

There was lots of river chaos and rope swing fun!

Then there were glow stick battles in the meadow, along with the potato gun glow sticks...light saber battles and more!  We finally called it quits around midnight, but the kids were going strong, and they tried to stay up all night.  They did a pretty good job of it too!  Look how tired this bunch is at breakfast :)

And after everyone left, Jordyn and the cats sacked out in my room for about 5 hours!  Amateurs!  :)
I think its safe to say a great time was had by all!  We need to do this again soon!

Happy 11th Birthday Jordyn!!!

For Jordyn's birthday she chose to go to Fort Fun again.  This place really is a lot of fun and affordable too.  It's a good time for adults and kids alike!  They enjoyed all the activities, but of course their favorite was the GoCarts and the Laser Tag!

The water boats were refreshing on a hot day...in fact, we stood close by just to get squirted a bit to cool off!  Then it was time for pizza and icees....they totally hit the spot!
Sharon and Victoria stayed for a while and joined in on the fun, so Justin took Victoria for a spin on the GoCarts!  She LOVED it!
Uh-Oh, looks like Andrea and Aspen got in a little fender bender, while Jordyn sneaks on by and takes the lead!
Laser tag was a blast as always...we enjoyed playing on teams this time around and it was hilarious!

Andrea and Justin give Jordyn some tips on winning a ball...in fact everyone won a ball!
They got rid of the carousel they used to have there. That was Jordyns favorite when she was little so it was sad to see that gone.
We got home around 9pm that night and the girls crashed out in the "last resort".  They woke up early and played Jordyns new game she got from her great godmother Sandy, 5 second rule, and that was fun listening to them come up with their answers.  They all tried to cheat a bit!
Then the girls played in the river while I finished making her cake!

Happy Birthday Sweetheart...I hope all your wishes come true!  We LOVE you!!!

Surprise Wedding on the Island ~

Damian and Jen invited a few friends and family members to an engagement party in the Poudre Canyon.  The plan was to have a champagne toast on the island today, but once down there, it was a wedding instead!  Of course, Justin was in on it from the beginning, as Damian had asked him to perform the ceremony.  A few of us guessed it might be a wedding, but no one really knew for certain until Jen told her folks the night before.  Once she spilled the beans, it spread like wildfire, so come Saturday morning, everyone was excited for the "champagne toast" on the island!

Fairy Jordyn was waiting down on the island to present this bouquet of wildflowers to Jen...and Justin was waiting down by the river ready for to kick off the ceremony.
We had to kill some time, while Damian ran back up to the house, where he had forgotten the ring.  oops!  No worries Damian...we'll take some photos while you're gone!  Just look at this bunch of hams!

And now it was time to get down to business...
Justin kicked off the ceremony in true Princess Bride fashion...
"Mawwiage. Mawwiage is what bwings us togethew today."

After saying a few sweet words about the bride and groom, it was time for Jen and Damian to share their vows...

I am so pleased that Jen wore my pearl ring for something "borrowed" during the ceremony.  Both my sisters and my best friend (Christy) wore this ring in their weddings, so I thought it only fitting that my new soon-to-be sister should also wear it.

After exchanging their vows, they stole a kiss, while Justin laughed and reminded them, "I didn't say you could kiss the bride yet!"
He shared a few more sweet words, pronouncing them husband and wife..."and NOW you may kiss the bride!"

After a champagne toast and more photos, Justin guides the bride and groom over to this path. They are instructed to move these rocks, creating a new path which represents their new life together.
I'm sure Jen is happy to be doing this in a dress!  :)
The new path is complete!
And now everyone takes the new path to head to the reception tent in the meadow for lunch!

What a magical day!  This is how every wedding should be...fun, exciting and full of surprises! Congratulations Damian and Jen!  May your life together be filled with sweet joy!
