Rogue Camp 2013 - Day One andTwo

Still trying to get caught up on blogs...but im getting there!  Rogues started arriving on Thursday, however, it basically rained all day, so i didnt get many photos.  I did however capture this one of the boys tasting Justins moonshine...looks like they approve!  :)
By Friday afternoon most of our guests had arrived, showing up from as far away as Michigan, Utah, Idaho, California, and Texas :)  We host Rogue Camp every year, and its always a magical event!
Thankfully the weather warmed up for Friday, so there was a lot of relaxing in the river, card playing, music jammin and basic fun among friends!

Looks like Kathryn won the Zombie Fluxx card game :)
At night we gathered around the fire for more music and laughter...

Dont ya just love Spikes socks :)
And lets not forget about the nastrovia tent...a tradition among our friends...gathering around for a shot of brandy with a lime coated with coffee on one side and sugar on the other...
you could easily lose a lot of time in this tent...and as you can see, i did just that :)

Some of us only get to see each other once a year, so we all look forward to Rogue Camp...stay tuned for day 3!

Birthday Wishes From Kuwait ~

Cousin Phil sent a message to Jordyn on her birthday, along with this photo of him holding up her going away card that she made for him back in February. "Hey Lisa...tell Jordyn I said Happy Birthday! sounds like everyone had a great time. I will definitely be there next year."
She was thrilled to hear from him, and proud that he still had her card!  We all miss you Phil and look forward to you joining us next year for her birthday!  Be safe, we love you!

Happy Birthday Jordyn...The Big 7!!!

Okay, so her party was on July 13th, but with Rogue Camp the following weekend, and getting caught up on everything, im a little behind on posting :)  We had a Hello Kitty themed BBQ birthday party, and we had 60 people at our house....yep, you read that right....60 people!
In a small community, its hard to have a party without inviting all of the kids, and besides, we love having all the cousins here too...so we had a big birthday shindig!  Its not like we dont have the space for it...as long as everything takes place outside :)  My sister Denise sent this outfit from California for her, and it was perfect for her big day...at least until it was swimsuit time...

The day before her party, it rained and rained and rained, so we were a little worried about what the weather would do on Saturday...but as you can see, the weather was gorgeous, and the kids spent most of their time playing in the water!

I love this shot of Jordyn with all of her cousins...

Frank and Justin took turns on guitar, while Donovan played the drums...theres nothing quite like live music.  Our friend Derek played some guitar down by the river for the kids as well...so there was music all around!
Then it was time for presents!!!

Jordyn pauses for a moment to take a photo with her godparents, Christy and Donovan, two of the coolest people i know!  :)
We had lots of tasty choices for dinner...chicken, brauts, hot dogs, baked beans, asian chicken salad, fruit salad, potato salad, watermelon, chips & dips, and some relish trays...and it was all delicious!
Pinata Time!!!

By the time we were ready to do cake, it started to pour rain, so all the kids headed into our very tiny cabin  :)
It was a little chaotic, but the kids didnt seem to mind...we sang happy birthday, and then it was cupcake time!

Thankfully, after about 1/2 an hour, the sun came back out, and we were surprised with a double rainbow!  A perfect ending to a wonderful birthday!

My cousin takes our family picture every year, and as always, they came out great!  Thanks Christy...i love all of them :)
That evening, after all the guests left, our family gathered around the fire to roast hot dogs and marshmallows for s'mores, play music, tell stories, laugh and relax!  I love that my family comes up to camp on her birthday weekend...we look forward to it every year!

The kids played hard and crashed hard...sweet dreams little ones!
