On Wednesday we got just enough snow for the little red car to have a hard time on the road, so on Thursday, i took the Bravada...and its a good thing i did! By the time we got out of school, there was roughly 8 inches on the ground, and it was still coming down.
In low gear we made our way down Pingree Hill and the 1000 foot decent. The road can be a little creepy sometimes, but the view is absolutely gorgeous!
We safely made it home, where Justin had a cozy fire waiting for us! The forecast had predicted several feet of snow in the next two days, so we all had our fingers crossed for a snow day! At about 1am the power went out and remained out till around 6 am.
The good news...we have an old school phone and got a call at about 5 am stating all mountain schools were closed! Yeah.........SNOW DAY!!!!
The bad news...we all fell asleep and the awning collapsed on us! DOH!
Soccer practice was canceled for Friday, and the game ended up getting canceled for Saturday, so we hunkered down in the cabin all weekend and just enjoyed the spring snowstorm! We measured a good 2 feet, but we're guessing we got a lot more than that with all the wet snow that was underneath! At any rate, it was well needed moisture that should put us out of the fire danger zone now! Hooray for spring snowstorms! :)

First Hummingbird of the Season ~
Saw the first hummingbird of the season this weekend, and got the feeders out just in time for some chilly weather! Gotta keep the little guys happy! :)
My Beautiful Daughter ~
One of the things i love about working on the school yearbook, is that i get access to all the photos taken throughout the year! I stumbled upon this photo taken by her teacher from the first day of school, and i absolutely love it! Between our battles in the morning getting ready for school, and the arguments we have about cleaning your room to the laughter we have in the car about your "what if" scenarios and your goofy dances in the living room....i love you more than you will ever know!!! You are smart, funny, kind and creative....and i am so proud of you!

The Guys ~
Once a month the guys have been playing at Yum Yum's Mediterranean Restaurant and Bar, and they jam for several hours while belly dancers perform. Its all very improvisational, and the guys have a great time getting together. I havent had a chance to go yet, but someone else took this photo and shared it on Facebook, so i wanted to share it here. I love these guys! Fabulous musicians, and great friends!

Happy Easter!!!
Jordyn woke up to a full basket of goodies this morning including the complete second series of the Warriors books by Erin Hunter. She loves these books and has already devoured the first series but since these are checked out of the library already, she was thrilled to have her own set to read right away!
She also got a Monster High Doll, the new Madagascar Penguins movie, sparkly nail polish, and of course a giant chocolate bunny, peeps, assorted chocolate and of course jelly beans (both sour and regular). Yum!
Then it was time to hunt for eggs! There were no eggs hidden inside this year (much to her surprise), but they were all outside....all 40 of them!
and here she is posing with her stash! Way to go kiddo...maybe next year the birds will get a few! :)

With a little help from mom and dad...and even the cats, she found all of them.

Time to Color Eggs ~
On Saturday night we colored eggs to get ready for Easter! We tried a new dye method...tie-dying.
You wrap the egg in this cloth and then place it in this plastic holder with holes, that you squirt bits of dye into with a pipette.

You let it set for a few seconds and then you take out the egg, and ta-da! Tie-dye fun!
Naturally Justin got in on the action!
and here is a shot of some of our egg creations...
Bring on Easter! :)
Soccer - Game 2
Well, the girls played a fantastic game today! They tied 2 to 2 and Jordyn scored the tying goal! Very exciting!
She played goalie for about half the game, and then they put her on the front line for the second half of the game...and let me just say...its nerve-wracking to watch your child as the goalie! :)
The weather was gorgeous though, and after the game Jordyn and I went to lunch at the Ever Open Cafe, and then checked out all the little chicks at the Jax Farm and Ranch. They were so cute...we wanted to take some home, but we still arent quite set up for chickens, so maybe next year.
We decided we would try to work on a chicken run this summer though so we could be ready, so we'll see if we can put that together!
When we got home i received a package in the mail from my mom for Easter....this awesome Dodger visor and a couple of Easter cards with fun money for Jordyn in it! Thanks mom...i have wanted one of these for a while now! I love it! Go Dodger Blue!!!
