Saint Patty's Day on the Slopes ~

She is known on the slopes as The Pink Unicorn! When she was skiing with cousins and Justin was looking for her he could ask the lift guys...."has the pink unicorn been by here"...and they all knew exactly who she was :)

Thats right...the cousins all went skiing/snowboarding on Saint Patrick's Day at Snowy Range in Wyoming!  I stayed home to enjoy having the house all to myself...so it was a Daddy-Daughter day!
It was also Jordyns first time snowboarding...and she loved it!  She fell quite a bit getting the hang of it...but she got her groove on and had fun!  She has decided she likes snowboarding better than skiing, which is too bad, because she is really good at skiing...but im sure it wont be long before shes an expert snowboarder too :)   Happy St. Patty's Day everyone!

A Gorgeous Day for a Hike!

We went for a hike on the Mt. Margaret trail in Red Feather Lakes with some family and friends today.  The weather was absolutely perfect!
We tromped through lots of snow and mud but it was totally worth it!  Here is a funny shot of Michael trying to get a cell phone signal, while Jordyn and Oliver goof off on the rocks!  Oliver is a foreign exchange student from Germany staying with Deni's family in Texas, so naturally we had to show him what a gorgeous state Colorado is while they are visiting!

Okay...that was a great shot...now do something silly!

I love this photo of us...too bad Jordyn couldnt be bothered to stop stuffing her face for the picture! :)

After the hike we decided to stop over at Dowdy Lake to take a few photos...
when we discovered this bald eagle ice fishing!  He had pulled this fish out of the lake and then proceeded to munch down on it while chillin on the ice.

I took several shots but i didnt have my zoom lens so they came out a bit blurry, but it was still fascinating to watch!
By this time we were all ready for some cocktails and munchies...so we popped over to the potbelly and enjoyed some sunshine on the deck!

And this was the scene when we got home...lots of power lounging...games...music and laughter!

What a fabulous day!
Two sleeping cousins :)   nighty night!

Kicking Off Spring Break ~

Soooo excited to have the next 10 days off!!! Justin came to our school in the afternoon to help with the Red Feather Rockers band practice, then we were all heading home when we came upon this mess on Pingree Hill. Doh!
It looks like we can drive around him in this shot, but its actually quite a steep drop right there...in fact you can get a better idea of scale by seeing how small and far away Jordyn looks in this shot.
I felt so bad for this guy...but now it meant we would have to wait quite a while to pass...or turn around and drive all the way down the mountain and go around to drive back up the Poudre Canyon (about an hour and a half out of our way)!
Our solution...lets kill some time at the Pot Belly!
Not a bad way to kick off our Spring Break!

Growing Up ~

Today I noticed my daughter had this photo on her tablet as her screensaver.  These three girls are always in class early hanging out in our preschool room.  I never even knew she took the photo in there!  She is becoming very tech savvy and looks so grown up here with her friends!  I cant believe she will only be in elementary school for two more years before she heads down the mountain for middle school!  Love you sweetheart!
