Busted!

Here is a sketch Jordyn did of me the other day...its my "mother of the year" award, and im sure this is how i have looked the entire school year, particularly the last few weeks as i work on the school yearbook. Doh! Hang in there kiddo...only another week, and you'll have your mom back again
p.s. please allow me a few days of sleeping in first though

Happy Mothers Day!

 Happy Mothers Day!  We had some pretty decent weather all week, and then a snowstorm rolled in last night and has continued all day!  I took these photos this morning, when we had 9 inches, but now there is over 14 inches, and its still coming down!  My fingers are crossed for a snow day tomorrow, but we shall see!  I dont mind missing Monday, but we have a field trip scheduled for Tuesday, so hopefully it will let up by then :)

 We celebrated moms day on Saturday night...Justin made us lobster, crab and steak....Yum!  We decided to do dinner last night because tonight he went up to his moms for dinner and i wanted to stay home and finish up the school yearbook...that and lounge in my pj's all day!  Jordyn made me a little heart out of clay with her initials on it, and a really cute book with her very own illustrations (which are great).  A wonderful mothers day...and though it would have been nice for sunshine, staying inside cozy and warm was fun too! cheers!

My Little Artist ~

Each year the school holds a contest for the yearbook cover, and any child in the school can participate, then the kids all vote on their favorite.  Well, this year, Jordyn won!  She was soooo excited, and i have to admit, i was rather proud too :)  Usually one of the older kids in the school wins, so it was pretty cool to have a 2nd grader win.  Anyways, Congratulations sweetheart!

Meanwhile, my daughter was overheard talking on the phone with a friend about boys...does it really start this young?  :)   They were chatting about dances and dating, apparently if she dances with a boy at our Spring Swing, she considers that a date.  So shes talking on the phone, (speaker phone), and she asks her friend, "What happens after dating", to which Justin hollered from downstairs, "Nothing!  Dating goes on for years!"  hehehehehehe!  Happy Weekend!

Happy Easter!

 A late post, but Happy Easter!!!  Jordyn woke us up around 7:30 to see if the Easter bunny came, and lo and behold, he sure did!  The bunny filled her bag to the top, with candy, a chocolate bunny, the Despicable Me 2 movie, some new Easter hot wheels, a couple my little ponies, and of course, more candy!  (note the green egg hidden behind her head that she hadnt spotted yet)  She also got some goodies from mom and dad, including a new ice skating outfit for her doll Lilly, a new photo book from her zoo sleepover adventure with the girl scouts, and this very cool Van Gogh doll.

 Jordyn wanted to buy him when we were at the DAM a while back, but i told her he was too expensive.  She really wanted him, so she was excited to see him on the table.  She exclaimed, "you bought him for me! Thank you mom!!"  I think its safe to say, she loves her new Van Gogh doll!!!  I do too!  His left ear is attached with velcro, so you can remove it if you want.  :)

 She hunted for eggs throughout the house...25 eggs in all!  Then she decided to see what was inside...

 then it was time to hunt for eggs outside...

 After breakfast we headed down to town to have an Easter lunch at Great Grandma Anitas.

It was an absolutely gorgeous day, and a wonderful time with family!  Hoppy Easter  :)

Prepping for Peter Cottontail!

 Easter egg goodness going on at the Black Bear Cabin tonight!  We did some old school style...some tie-dye and some sparkle eggs...and then we ended up mixing them all together!

 

When we were finished making eggs, Jordyn made this Easter basket for the Easter bunny.  She also left him this note...it reads, "Dear Easter Bunny, I am your hop fan. But i would like a picher of what you look.  pleas put a pichur of what you look like."

So when i checked back before bedtime, the Easter bunny had left her this...

Snowman Snow!!!

 Finally...some decent snowman snow!!!  We havent built any snow people all season, so we decided to build a whole family!  So glad we had the day off today to enjoy the snow :)

 Then Jordyn and Daddy built this giant tower, that they decided should be a dragon.

Spring Snow ~

 We had a nice storm roll in on Saturday night, and it continued to snow all day on Sunday!  We got about 8 inches, but now the sun is out and its all melting away (even though its only 28 degrees).  Gotta love Spring Snows!  :)
